What an exciting night...

Kensington is a little pooped out at the moment... last night she attended 8 of the 10 inaugural balls with the first couple and was up way past her bedtime :)

I found out that WhiteHouse.gov, the official site of the President, was updated to reflect the changeover from President George W. Bush to President Barack Obama within a few minutes of yesterdays inauguration. On the Agenda page, it lays out Obama's civil rights agenda, which includes broad support for the LGBT community, including the expansion of Adoption Rights. President Obama believes that we must ensure adoption rights for all couples and individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation. He thinks that a child will benefit from a healthy and loving home, whether the parents are gay or not. Right on!

(oh... what's that below? Another post from today? Wow)

What a beautiful daughter you have and a wonderful family you make! Keep the pictures and stories coming!!

The news you posted today, concerning the new administration in Washington, was enlightening and hopeful. We seem to be waiting for the other shoe to drop since the defeat last November in Arkansas. We are afraid the RED state of Texas will not be far behind concerning adoption law.

Thank you for the kind and encouraging words you have typed on our blog. Your ideas concerning publicity are wonderful and may be used if we are waiting more than six months. FYI… we have “officially” been waiting three months, at present.

On another note we may have a little in common, as it turns out. I work for the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and sit on various internal and external committees around Houston. I also have personal affiliations with staff at Sloan-Kettering. Our paths may have crossed by slight degrees of separation. It is always a small world.
Best regards,

I live in Florida and have been following the overturn of our gay adoption ban very closely. Once Holly has our baby, I would like to adopt our child as a 2nd parent. Shouldn't everyone deserve that right?

Kensington looks great next to Barack Obama! I can just imagine that I'll be voting for her sometime in the future. "President Kensington Grace - the first female President of the United States!" That has a nice ring to it!

I love the picture of her and Barack almost as much as I love you!

While I like the sound of, "President Kensington Grace"... I hope we don't have to wait 40 years to have our first female President. My hopes are we'll have one in 8 years :)
